Chris Morris, Early Careers Scheme Leader for JCB says -
I'm very pleased to announce that during these challenging times, a team of 34 JCB apprentices have come together to work on the full restoration of a vintage Backhoe 1 Series for one of JCB's longest standing customers (Eric Carnaby and Son). As you can see from the attached video link, the project itself was very personal to the Carnaby family, with the machine been named after Eric's late wife (Angela). I'm immensely proud of the apprentices involved and I know they have learnt a great deal from each other, especially appreciating how machines were hand built back in the 1960's. This was the first time we have managed to combine our Business Management Degree, Engineering Degree, Technician and Craft Apprenticeship Schemes together and once again this involved apprentices from across five separate business units. I'm sure you will agree, they did a fantastic job and something to remember for the rest of their lives.
